In front of every great Wordpress blog, there is a great Wordpress theme. Behind every great Wordpress blog, there are a set of highly functional, efficient and effective Wordpress plugins. This ultimate list of quality Wordpress plugins includes them all.

Platinum SEO Pack

The ultimate SEO solution for your Wordpress blog, Platinum SEO pack does everything All In One SEO can do plus a few extra features. If you’re still using the outdated All In One SEO Wordpress plugin, I recommend switching.

From the author: “You don’t have to fear changing permalinks. If you are not satisfied with the current permalink, change it through Settings > Permalinks in your admin panel, without worrying about loss of Page rank or google penalty.Platinum SEO plugin will take care of issuing a 301 redirect to the new location. This is a new essential feature, not present in All in one SEO.

Redirection

Redirection manages your 301 redirects, automatically adding redirections for URL / permalink changes. Redirection also tracks 404 errors and allows you to setup custom redirects for any file within your Wordpress installation.

Sociable

Visible at the bottom of this post, Sociable is a clean social bookmarking plugin for your blog.

From the author: “Automatically add links to your favorite social bookmarking sites on your posts, pages and in your RSS feed. You can choose from 99 different social bookmarking sites!”

Instead of Platinum SEO Pack I recommend wpSEO, it has much more features and it free for private blogs. Try it out http://wpseo.org

And instead Akismet, try out the brand new Antispam Bee http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/antispam-bee/

Spam is history and no need to check if there are some false positives in your spam list.
